Vocal

Being married to an angelic-sounding professional soprano has inspired several solos and arrangements, namely my Pie Jesu and my setting of Daniel England’s The Lord’s Prayer text to the ever-popular ‘Highland Cathedral’ tune. The fact that my wife has a sister, another professional musician (with whom I have actually recorded our “Reflection of Hope” CD), and who sounds so much like my wife that I can scarcely discern who is singing what part, has inspired me to write duets for two equal sopranos such as my arrangement of How Can I Keep From Singing? and Malotte’s The Lord’s Prayer. When I finished my SATB a cappella “Lord Bless You And Keep You,” my wife immediately asked me to write her a solo version, so that version, with piano accompaniment, appears here under Vocal. I hope my Pie Jesu, one that, whenever I accompany my wife singing it, never let’s me go unmoved, will, along with the others, become cherished additions to your library of solo vocal music.
